HR review of flights October 31

Jorge sent pilots an email about a review of all flights on October 31 and a reminder to file a flight to avoid suspension. I think this is a good idea, since there are pilots listed as active who haven't made flights in months. However, can I ask whether the 60 day rule still in force or are we bac...

New repaint download links in Firefox

I found that the download links for the new repaints aren't working properly, in Firefox at least. It offers to save them as HTML documents, even though hovering over the link shows that it is a ZIP file. If you override that by typing a .ZIP extension in the "save as" window then the files can be d...

Re: Stick with GCP or Change to a Commercial PIREP Software?

GCP is a unique piece of software and it would be a great pity to lose the very useful features it has.

Flight Map not loading correctly

When I opened the flight map this morning there was a caution message that Google Maps hadn't loaded correctly and it showed a development only version of the map.

Re: Using B748F for flights booked for B744F

Hi Jason, People wouldn't want to fly the B748F on B744F routes if more B748F flights were available to book. Can more real world B748F flights be added to the schedule (and charters) please? One quartere of the Atlas/Polar 747 fleet is the B748F so a fair number of B748F flights should be available...

Re: PMDG 747 - 8

Absolutely agree Yorik. The 747-8 is as smooth as silk. Not only that, the new features like EFB, ACARS, ECL and the airport moving map work beautifully and are so immersive.

Re: REAL WORLD OPS: Houston Express is ending

I've flown IAH-LAD once for GCVA. It's a heck of a long flight so not one I'd repeat in a hurry. The flights were for oil industry execs so the aircraft are fitted out with mostly premium seats. Only 189 seats in total, just 36 economy. Apparently the aircraft sometimes flew fairly empty. Last year ...

Re: Missing PIREP

Hi Volker,

Flights folder is empty. However in the Logs folder I found a text file with the details of the flight. I don't know if it's any use, but I'll send it to you anyway.

Thanks

Kevin

Missing PIREP

I flew a Polar bid flight last night (PGUA to RKSO) but forgot to submit the PIREP. I had a rudder issue and wrote it up as a MX report. GCP popped up a window saying it could be closed so I did, forgetting to submit the PIREP. As a result the flight is in my GCP logbook but not on the website. Can ...

Re: Flying LDS 767 from VC

Ah yes, the PSS 757, I forgot all about that. That was neck and neck with CS for me but I'd probably side with you on preferring PSS. PSS died a long time ago. I know they were known for other products but I don't remember what - do you, or anyone else, remember? Yes, sadly software piracy finished...

Re: Giant 36 departing Quito to KMIA

Thanks for generous comments. Flying in and around mountains makes for good screenshot opportunities. Really nice, do you like ASN with REX? I'm not really sure to be honest. ASN is a huge improvement over native FSX cloud depiction, without additional textures. I haven't done any comparisons with a...

I took this shot while climbing slowly north out of Quito. ASN weather plus Rex Soft Clouds, default FSX scenery.
