Re: Introduction
...I know Manchester United also holds that name, but they're soccer which means infinitely less awesome than the Red Wings. ManU is not a "soccer" team, they're a "football" team. Football is the worlds most popular sport, and the Red's are the worlds most popular team of any sport. This...

Gotta love the Mighty Reds of America.
Yes Brogs, I know Manchester United also holds that name, but they're soccer which means infinitely less awesome than the Red Wings.

And of course, welcome Gabe. The best advice I can offer is never stop asking questions and always remember that you can always learn something new from everyone, even the new guys.

That is confusing because I thought that Polar and Atlas, and by that extension Titan, only used figures in kilos... So everything is always in pounds on the Atlas and Titan flight boards?

Yeah, runway is to short, especially when you leave 2/3 of it behind you after contact! I couldn't agree more Nathan. THe whole time I was watching this I actualy started saying to the monitor: "C'mon set her down, set her down. Set that plane down!" I'm kindof glad everyone in the house was ...

Re: Updrafts over UAE
wow, that is an incredible aircraft to withstand that kind of stress. Was it sustained or momentary?nharwood wrote:The world record is held by a MiG 29 pilot who somehow pulled off 65,000 ft/min (330m/s)
Sustained being 2 to 3 seconds and momentary being fractions to 1 second.

Updrafts over UAE
I don't know if any of you were flying in and or out of Dubai today around 1730z but the updrafts were tremendous. I recorded a climb rate of almost 8200fpm at one point!
Just figured I'd share.
