Re: Building a new computer

Ordered all the parts today. Went with AMD Ryzen 3950X, an Asus ROG Mobo, 32 gb of Corsair memory, 2 1TB M.2 hard drives, 850w power supply, water cooled CPU heatsink.

Parts get here on Friday but I won't be able to build it until next week.

wow. Do I need a bigger power supply than about 750-800 watts? ...Assuming I go with a 2080 graphics card.

Thanks for the suggestions...I had already spec'd out an i9 setup and will check out the 3950 setup too.

If electric power is cheap in the U.S. go for the AMD, otherwise take the i9 :D
LOL. Does the AMD take a lot of wattage? I am leaning towards the AMD 3950X right now.

Re: Bid board and flight equipment

No problem there...Volker is actually looking into the possibility of adding a Preference Bid (very basic initially) function that each of you can save certain preferences for the autobid. The catalyst for this function is this scenario because not everyone has every aircraft type. We are exploring ...

Re: HR review of flights October 31

Jorge sent pilots an email about a review of all flights on October 31 and a reminder to file a flight to avoid suspension. I think this is a good idea, since there are pilots listed as active who haven't made flights in months. However, can I ask whether the 60 day rule still in force or are we ba...

VATSIM Audio Review?

Anyone have thoughts on the new VATSIM audio codec? I haven't tried it yet but watched some youtube videos. I'm actually looking forward to getting my sim setup and try a flight on VATSIM now. This took WAY too long to come to fruition, shame on VATSIM but at the same time thanks to them for finally...

Re: Honeycomb Yoke Review?

No responses because I guess it isn't out yet! LOL...unless you preordered it. It can be purchased now but won't ship until the end of this month. I am planning on getting one as soon as they start shipping - I've watched enough comparison videos to justify the "risk".

Re: MS Flight Sim

I mostly agree. It will take some time for add-ons to catch up but it will make for some fun sight seeing flights. As for it being for gamers,I thought that initially too but if you watch videos of the developers talk about what they are doing with it I think you'll be amazed. They said directly tha...

Anyone have the Honeycomb yoke yet? Curious how it compares to the Saitek yoke.
