Got the call - Dispatch!

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

So far so good!

A lot of information to take in, but I'm doing well and even shadowing a friend on the night shift, last night I was in our GCC "Global Command Center" for 6 hours, watching him do his thing.

So in addition to being our Director of HR, you're going to be lead dispatcher as well right?

Oh no, not Dir. of HR - Jason still takes that one!

I'm just helping do a bit of recruitment and getting a good active pilot base :)

Hi Joseph,

Coincidentally I am also thinking about doing the Dispatcher course at Sheffield this year. How would you describe the job so far? You mentioned its a lot of info, but what is the stress level like?

It can be stressful at times, you'll need to be good at task management and prioritizing. If you don't mind putting in the 2-3 years at a regional to get to mainline or a bigger company, it can be very rewarding - and the benefits are awesome (cockpit jumpseat on many diff carriers!).

Any hope to be able to buy Atlas and Polar stuff...t-shirts, patches etc... That would be really cool; by the way congrats on your new position. :D :D :D :D :!: :!: :!:
