Real world ATLAS/POLAR schedule vs GPC flights

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

Real world ATLAS/POLAR schedule vs GPC flights

Post by Bodo Mueller »

Hi there,

every month on the 17th we can bid for Atlas Air and Polar flights which actually should be adopted from the real world schedule in the past.

I feel that the GPC schedule do not match the Atlas/Polar real world schedule anymore. Most of the offered flights are outdated and do not operated anymore, not to speak from the aircraft assignment (747-8F vs 744F).

Meanwhile Polar and Atlas operates a lot of flights with the 748 but the GPC schedule does not reflect that. For instance, the Flights between Miami and Quito are performed with 748. Also most of the flight from and to Seoul.

My question: Who from the GPC staff is responsable for the schedule timetable and their aircraft assignment? Can anyone review the Atlas Air and Polar Air schedule and do the necessary changes to be up todate?

I remeber that we had one member who was or is working at Atlas Air dispatch?
Best regards,
Bodo Müller

Hi,

I fully agree with Bodo. If you look at the schedule page you can see a B744F flights every day of the week to ANC but you can't see them back in the open board flights page.

Furthermore adding or splitting flights into a -400F and -8F flights would be nice too. We're suppose to be a virtual airline reflecting our RL counterpart as fare as I can remember.

+1 - I am happy to put some time into the schedules if you wish. I sent the 2019 schedules to a Justin a few weeks ago

I use to be manager at Titan 10+ years ago so I know how it all works to

You are absolutely correct Bodo, we used to have up to date schedules. The method we had to obtain the schedules hasn't been an option for a few years now and that's why the update had gone dormant. In the time since I've looked for alternate methods to obtain the schedules in an uploadable format to no avail.

Good news tho is that Mike has found a method that at least updates every few months however I need to figure out the format it needs to be set to for the batch upload. Hang in there, they will be updated before long. Once the formatting is programmed we'll be able to keep them more up to date on a regular basis.

Just one more suggestion here. Since Atlas, Polar and I believe Southern Air use KG instead of LBS, can the load amounts be adjusted accordingly on the schedules?

I'll look into that. In GCP there's an option to display weights as Lbs or Kg's - have you set that to KG? I know though that the website lists weights as Lbs and that's what you're asking about.

Good to see the schedules will be updated again. I have been flying real world scheduled flights the last couple of months instead of flights from the GCP Schedule, i hope that is not too much of an issue. Just adds to the immersion, flying the current schedule. Again, glad to see this is being worked on!

Cheers,

One of the topic was adding Amazon Prime B738F flights :)
Hopefully it got approved as I compiled those schedules too

Hi all,

Schedule updates are a great improvement! However one thing i noticed is that the flights for Panalpina are showing as PAC flights, these are operated under GTI flightnumber/callsign though, most of the time with N850GT.
