"<!--coloro:#CC0000--><span style=""color:#CC0000""><!--/coloro--><!--sizeo:3--><span style=""font-size:12pt;line-height:100%""><!--/sizeo-->***This NOTAM has been published in the Pilot Manual***<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> Globe Cargo Pilots: A probation period for new pilots has been implemented. The probation period is the pilots' first two months of employment. This policy has been instituted in response to an increasing number of ""0 time"" pilots on the roster. Globe Cargo is serious about ""quality over quantity"" in pilots. ""0 time"" pilots take up a considerable amount of administrations time from welcoming them to the airline, tracking their lack of activity, and finally the lengthy termination procedure. The probation period has two simple rules: 1. A new pilot must fly at least one flight in their first month of employment; and 2. A new pilot must place their first bid (of at least one flight per month) by the end of their second month of employment. Details: A new pilot may sign up for (like any other pilot) a Polar open-board or Atlas charter flight immediately upon succesful testing of FSACARS or setting up FS Flight Keeper. Pilots who join right before a bid may not be able to get organized fast enough to place a bid during the first bid session after their employment. This situation is why a new pilot has two months to place their first bid. A pilot in their probation period who has failed to comply with this policy is subject to immediate termination and the termination procedure outlined in the Pilot Manual does not apply. The terminated pilot will be removed from the Globe Cargo system and notified by the Region manager. This is assuming the pilot has not contacted their RM with a reasonable explanation of why the requirements were not met. If the RM is contacted by the pilot, terminations will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Real airlines employ the same policy with their new pilots. Generally the duration of the pilots' probation period is 1 year. During that year the pilot is evaluated to be certain they are capable and competent to fly for that airline.
