"There is a new option available to pilots requiring an abnormal length of time off due to real world commitments. Extended LOA's are now available for up to 6 months (we still want to keep an active roster). The difference between a LOA and an Extended LOA is that the pilot on an Extended LOA is not shown on the Pilot Roster and Logs page. The pilot is not terminated but just not displayed on the roster. All data on the Extended LOA pilot is retained including pilot number and logged hours. To request an Extended LOA follow the same procedure as a LOA but put in the remarks that you are requesting an Extended LOA. Be sure to include your date of return. At the end of the Extended LOA, notify your RM that you are ready to return. If your RM doesn't hear from you, he may begin the termination procedure immediately. If you have any questions, let me know. Justin"
