Three-letter Airline Codes

Post by nwadc10 »

When testing a new feature (details very soon) we discovered we are using the 3 letter airline code in some places and the 2 letter airline code in others. For standardization purposes, all flight numbers are to use the 3 letter airline code.

The code on the website to accept pireps has been changed to not accept pireps with anything other than our official 3 letter airline codes in the flight number (i.e. GTI8888). You will get a warning from FSFK if you try to use anything but one of the codes. FSACARS already requires/uses the 3 letter code and GCP will use the three letter code if the "Select Flight" feature is used. When manually entering the flight number in GCP you may not be able to fit in the full 3 letter code. In that case use the two letter code until I release an update to allow full 3 letter codes. Pireps submitted by GCP until then will be accepted with the two letter code.

The three letter codes are as follows:
3 letter code/airline/2 letter code
GTI: Atlas Air, 5Y
PAC: Polar Air Cargo, PO
DHX: DHL International, ES
QFA: Qantas, QF
ANZ: Air New Zealand, NZ
UAE: Emirites, EK
GEC: Luftansa Cargo, LH

This list above includes the two letter code for reference until the scheduled flights database is changed to use the 3 letter code. If you are flying a flight that is using the two letter code, please convert it to the 3 letter code in your PIREP.

In reference to an earlier NOTAM, only GTI, PAC, or DHX flight numbers are accepted by the pirep system because those are in reality Atlas flights. If you operate a QFA, ANZ, UAE, or GEC flight please make your PIREP reflect it as a GTI flight number.
