A Polar & Atlas Air Virtual Airline

About Us

PAST

Globe Cargo Virtual Airlines was founded in May 2004 under the name Virtual Atlas Air. The virtual airline was established to fill the need for realistic aircraft and airline operations. For this reason Ralph L. Tofflemire, the "father" of Ready For Pushback, 747 "Classic", formed this virtual airline. In the early days Atlas Air was the airline we emulated but not long after its inception Globe Cargo's operations were aligned with its real world counterpart. Polar Air Cargo became the primary simulated airline for Globe Cargo and Atlas Air became our charter division. Later on, the PMDG 747-400F was added to the fleet. The PMDG 747 was added because of its superior realism offered which fit naturally into our company along side the RFP fleet.

From the start, Globe Cargo has focused on realism, automation, and quality rather than quantity with regards to our pilot roster. That focus continues today.

PRESENT

GCVA is now in its 17th year of operation. Our roster continues to grow while maintaining active members. New positions have been added to management to help the airline grow as new features are added and new projects are implemented. The management team remains dedicated to the virtual airlines core values and to outstanding customer service.

FUTURE

Globe Cargo will continue to expand and improve. The realism provided will continue to increase and be optional to accomodate a larger range of virtual pilots. Crew training is on the leading edge of these advancements. Training is one of the most important aspects in an airline pilot's career. New training will include aircraft systems training similar to that of a real world airline pilot's training. Many more training items will be made available as there is virtually no limit to what can be learned about aviation and piloting a transport category aircraft. As the saying goes, a good pilot is always learning.

There are many other ideas and features we have planned. Some involving website features and others in the form of documentation.

We are always looking for and open to suggestions on any aspect of the virtual airline. Whether it is website features or policies please write to us. The management works hard for your enjoyment of flight simulators, detailed aircraft models, and virtual aviation. We are always interested in ways we can improve the airline.
